HANDS is asking for financial donations to answer the call for relief supplies from shelters and residents who have been affected by Hurricane Gustav.  Donations can be made through their website at www.hands.ms and click on the “Giving” link, highlighting “Gift Cards for Disaster”.  Donations may also be brought by the HANDS office at 120 Beaver Creek Drive in Ridgeland between the hours of 8:00 and 3:00 Monday through Friday.  HANDS has found that the most efficient way to provide for needs is through “Gift Cards for Disaster”.  Donations can be made in increments of $25.  Our experience is that gift cards of $25 can significantly help individuals, as $100 gift can help families of 4.  Gift Cards for Disaster greatly reduce transportation expenses and allow us to support merchants and economies affected by the storm.  If you have any questions, please call HANDS at 601-605-0800.

Cyclists Curing Cancer Century Ride

Join the Cyclists Curing Cancer Century Ride, benefiting Baptist Cancer Services' Serenity Garden for cancer patients and their families. The journey begins at the Baptist Healthplex-Clinton and stretches along the beautiful, historic Natchez Trace. Participants will receive a Century Ride T-shirt and a pasta lunch after the event. Free Caregivers Support Group Held at Baptist Adult Day in Clinton

Baptist Offers Free Cancer Rehab Classes

Baptist's Cancer Rehab Program is offered Tuesdays and Thursdays at 2:00 p.m. every week at no cost in the Activity Room of the Hederman Cancer Center, 1227 North State Street, Jackson, Miss. It helps to increase overall strength and stamina, decrease fatigue, weight loss and improve digestion.

Diabetes Support Group

Friday February 29^th the Mississippi State University Extension service of Rankin County will offer Tummy Safe, a food safety education course for childcare providers. The course will be held from 8am till 4pm at the Rankin County Extension office located at 601 Marquette Road in Brandon. Deadline for entry is February 22^nd.
